Eligibility Criteria for OPSC PGT Recruitment 2024

To be eligible for the OPSC PGT Recruitment 2024, candidates must meet certain criteria set by the commission. 

Age Limit

• Minimum Age Limit: 21 Years
• Maximum Age Limit: 32 Years
• For in-service applicants, the maximum age restriction will be 45 years old.
• The government’s relaxation of the upper age limit is applicable.

Educational Qualification

• A candidate must have a master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited university and have completed either an integrated six-year postgraduate master’s program at a regional college of education recognized by the NCERT, or a two-year postgraduate master’s program.
• A B.Ed. or an equivalent degree from a recognized university must be held by the candidate, as recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi. However, a B.Ed. is not a requirement for postgraduate teacher positions in subjects where B.Ed. courses are not offered.

Interview

• Those applicants who meet the requirements in their career evaluation will be invited to participate in the interview process. Thirty marks will be awarded for the interview.
• Based on their post-graduation grades, which must be qualifying in nature, the applicants in three times the total number of Post Graduate Teacher positions in each category (subject-wise) will be selected and invited for the Personality Test/Interview.
• Based on the scores received in the Career Assessment and Personality Test/Interview, each category-specific final choice list will be created.

OPSC PGT Selection Process 2024

It is anticipated that the Career Assessment and the personality test/interview will be used to choose applicants for the positions. One hundred points will be awarded in total. 

The career assessment is worth 70 out of a possible 100 points, while the personality test/interview is worth 30. As previously stated, the following weightage may be used to determine the 70 marks of the Career Assessment:

• Career Assessment: 70 marks
• Matriculation: 10%
• Higher Secondary: 10%
• Bachelor Degree: 20%
• Post Graduation: 30%
• B.Ed: 30%
